Under the Dust
Division of Public Communication, Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital
On the weekend eve of June 27th, 2015,
the dust explosion at Formosa Fun Coast, New Taipei City, shocked the world.
Near 500 patients hospitalized,
major hospitals in the northern districts overwhelmed,
It was the worst burn accident in Taiwan’s medical history.
Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital initiated mass casualty response,
received 13 severe burn patients,
and began life rescue and restless care.
Twice a day interdisciplinary teams and experts met,
staying on top of any changes,
and cooperate to draft therapeutic strategies;
medical teams and volunteers work around the clock.
Two months later, the tide has finally turned.
The road to recovery is long,
but the love and care from the medical team and volunteers will never stop.
