Ms. Tsai Ya-Chun and Dr. Chien Rui-Teng are emcees for the 2018 TIMA Convention.

With excellent speakers and good content, it is also important to have a good emcee to help the speakers interact with the audience. Tsai Ya-Chun, a young volunteer from Kaohsiung, was the emcee of 2018 TIMA Convention. This was her first time to be an emcee and she hoped the participants could interact with the lecturers easily. At first; however, she was not familiar with the procedure as she hadn’t attended the TIMA Convention before. Fortunately, Dr. Chien Rui-Teng, vice superintendent of Dalin Tzu Chi Hospital, and other volunteers actively provided her with lots of information, so gradually calmed down herself and contributed her ability with confidence.

"Mom passed away a few years ago. She used to be responsible for the tea service in the annual TIMA Convention. Later, she became a “Silent Mentor”(body donor) for Tzu Chi University Medical Simulation Center. I feel grateful. Because of Mom, I think I should seize the opportunity to serve others just as what she has done before,” Tsai said.

Even though this is her first time to be an emcee, Tsai Ya-Chun is confident.
