The volunteering group of the flower arrangement explained about their ideas for 2019 TIMA Annual Convention space arrangement. They hope all the guests will feel so at ease as the Dharma family during the meeting period.
The Moon Festival of this year in 2019 is also when TIMA members meet their respectable Master Cheng Yen. In order to make TIMA members joyful and feel at ease when they come back to Hualien, each functional section has been preparing everything in need on a grand and spectacular scale. For example, the volunteers in the section of space arrangement came to Hualien first on September 4th , a week earlier before the TIMA camp.
The volunteers of space arrangement section went to the nursery garden just behind Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital, choosing some woody plants which are suitable for buildings framing and landscape gardening such as Bodhi trees, Taiwan golden rain, Golden Spotted Leaf. In addition, they chose some herbaceous plants like ivies to decorate spaces. Volunteers have also bought orchids, Jacob's ladders, and chrysanthemums in specialty shops.
At 9 a.m. on September 9th, potted plants were all carried to Jing Si Hall, and the volunteers of the space arrangement section also got together preparing to decorate the hall. “From planning, material selection to the space arrangement in Jing Si Hall, we need team cooperation so that we can finish our mission successfully,” said Hsu Cai-Yun, the contact person of the section.
What the designing and the materials selecting of 2019 TIMA feature in Hsu Cai-Yun and her team are classically elegant, simple, and energy-saving. Hsu Cai-Yun and other volunteers decided to use nursery plants and Phalaenopsis to present the beauty of the whole space and to show the great appreciation of the TIMA medical personnel. After the TIMA camp, those plants could also be moved back to the nursery garden. Nurturing and reuse will not only extend the life of the plants but also achieve the goal of environmental protection.
Another Tzu Chi volunteer, Luo Yue-Yuan, is also one of the major undertakers of the space arrangement section. She has distinctive ideas about the space and the beauty and is able to deal with any sudden rearrangement and unexpected change skillfully. Standing by the wall without any decoration in “the Jing Si Hall”, Luo Yue-Yuan tried to use yellow cedar making the wall and the greenery match the space. Although simple, the whole space is lively.
The space arrangement group, i.e. the function group of presenting the Tzu Chi beauty and humanistic culture, decorates the space to spread the spirit - protecting the lives through the sense of beauty and protecting the environments with the great love.
