Digital Archiving
Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS.
Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website.
CLOCKSS will enable any library to maintain their own archive of content from Wolters Kluwer Medknow and other publishers, with minimal technical effort and using cheaply available hardware.
Ahead of Print policy
Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Wolters Kluwer Medknow has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.
Advertisements
While advertisements are crucial to this journal to be able to keep all content free for everyone, ethical considerations are in place to ensure the integrity of the journal and its content:
- "Pop-up" and "banner" ads appear on a random, rotating basis. The advertiser has no control or input over the pages where their ads appear.

Scope of the journal
The Tzu Chi Medical Journal (TCMJ) is the peer-reviewed and open access publication of the Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation. The mission of the TCMJ is to provide practical, timely, and relevant clinical and basic science information to physicians and researchers practicing in Taiwan and worldwide. Scientific papers of original research on clinical medicine and basic science, case reports, clinical pathological pages and review articles are included in this journal. In addition, any scope that can improve diagnosis and treatment in clinical medicine and advance basic research, and special features for continuing medical education (CME) are also covered in the TCMJ. TCMJ is published quarterly by Wolters Kluwer India Pvt Ltd. and indexed in EMBASE, Scopus, ScienceDirect, SIIC Data Bases and CAS. TCMJ was launched in 1989. Although TCMJ is a regional journal, the submission is not limited to Taiwan. We have received submission from not only from the Asia-pacific region but also some other countries worldwide. The editorial board covers experts of all major medical fields from Taiwan and other countries.
All papers considered for publication in TCMJ are reviewed by one associate editor and two to three reviewers. With strict review policy, only 60% of high quality articles can be accepted for publishing in TCMJ. We have previously published several important articles related to the specific disease patterns in Asian Pacific region such as tuberculosis, gout, and aboriginal alcoholism related diseases. These articles are worthy to be refereed. We have also expanded the scope of TCMJ to cover vegetarian, medical education, medical ethics, medical legal, clinical practice and therapeutics, image in clinical medicine and medical economic commentaries. TCMJ is an useful resource for clinicians, researchers, as well as the medical professionals.
