Responsibility of a caregiver: |
| (1) |
Help patients to shampoo their hair, clean their faces, take a sponge bath, brush teeth, clean oral cavity and clip nails |
| (2) |
Help patients change bed sheets and do laundry to maintain a comfortable environment |
| (3) |
Help patients maintain beds and surroundings such as a closet and table |
| (4) |
Help patients manager excrement, clean toilets after artificial anus heals and change diapers and clean urine pots (record the amount of diet and excrement)。 |

Assist patients under medical members’ instructions: |

1. To massage limbs, pat the back, turn the body and lie on the bed and leave
from the bed
2. To change hot-water bags and ice pillows
3. To feed, tube feeding ( prepare and clean) and give liquid medicine
distributed by nurses
4. To pay attention on an intravenous drip
5. Move patient by wheelchairs or Rollaway Beds. Some serious cases may be
supervised by nurses
6. To manage Phlegm Suction, Tracheotomy care and CATHETERIZATION
NURSING CARE( patients preparing discharge)

Assist patient to buy required objects and pay bills with family’s authorization |

Send patient to do treatment (clinic, rehabilitation and examination) |

Assist patients or their family to handle temporary affairs because of the need of life care |

Medical staff members are responsible to relative medical works. If necessary, caregivers shall give assistance in medical care. |

The rules for a caregiver: |

1. wearing an identification card
2. dressing the regulated uniform; slippers and shoes that make noise are
not allowed
3. maintaining clean appearance and keeping nails neat and clean |

Presence records: |

1. work on time; late arrival or early leaving are not allowed
2. Report to the nurses in the work unit and sign with the director before and
after work
3. If temporary leaving is necessary (within half hour). Please report to the
head nurse or primary nurse and family members. Leave is allowed under
their permission.
4. When working, asking other caregivers to substitute for the position or
work together is not allowed. Leave should be reported to the
administrator one day before the off day. If sudden leaving is necessary,
please report to the primary nurse, the person in charge of the institution
and on-duty staff members in the department of Nurse |

2. View patients as one’s own kin with love, patience and responsibility |

Behavior standard: |

1. Follow the assignment signed by administrators and obey the rules. Don
not find jobs by yourself; do not introduce other peoples to work in the
ward; do not select patients or refuse to take a short-term work. Do not
turn off the job temporarily after receiving notice.
2. Every caregiver take care one patient at most.
3. Chewing betel nuts, smoking and drinking are not allowed。
4. Please keep quiet in the ward.
5. Do not directly borrow money from patients or lend money to patients or
their family. Do not tell family telephone numbers to patients or their family
to avoid unnecessary troubles in the future.
6. Meal time is only for half hour and needs to be reported to the nurses. Do
not cook in the ward. Do not ask family members to provide meals.
7. Do not meet your friends or use cellphone when working.
8. The caregiver on daytime or at night is not allowed to sleep. Depending on
the patient’s health, the caregiver with whole day duty may take a break.
It is necessary to bring your personal article as simple as possible. Do not
use electronic equipment and bring family members or friends in the work
place.
9. Follow the direction, supervision and instruction of the head nurse or
on-duty nurses. Do not violate relative medical laws.
10. Do not involve and criticize medical treatment or introduce medicine with
doctors’ prescriptions.
11. After patients pass away, the caregiver may leave when assistance is
completed and patient’s family permits.
12. Caregivers should be evaluated by administrators at anytime. When they
check, caregivers should not dodge, disturb or refuse.
13. If an argument exists between family/ patients and caregivers, caregivers
should report to the administrator.
14. Follow the hospital and unit policy and actively report patient’s health to
medical staff members. If disputation exists between family/ patients and
caregivers, the hospital will not take any liability. |
